From the Practice Director

Good medicine needs time, and time needs organising

Our doctors' work is to think carefully about each patient. My work is to protect the conditions that make that possible: realistic appointment lengths, reliable equipment, a laboratory that is checked every day, and reception staff who know when a call needs a doctor's attention.

We have chosen to stay small. That means fewer patients each day than many practices see, and it means that when you telephone, the person who answers often knows who you are.

We judge ourselves on things patients rarely see: how quickly abnormal results are acted on, whether referral letters reach specialists with everything they need, and whether people understood what they were told. I am always glad to hear where we fall short.

Our history

How the practice has grown

  1. 2013

    Opened on Ahodwo Main Road

One doctor, one nurse and two consulting rooms, with longer appointments than usual from the first day.

  2. 2016

    Laboratory brought in-house

Routine blood and urine tests processed on site, with daily quality controls and external quality assessment.

  3. 2019

    Executive health assessments

A structured programme for professionals and employers from Adum, Asokwa and across the city.

  4. 2022

    Travel clinic

Pre-travel consultations, yellow fever vaccination and malaria advice for students, pilgrims, business travellers and visiting family.

  5. 2025

    Procedure room

A dedicated minor surgery room, so that most cysts, lipomas and ingrown toenails no longer need a hospital referral.

How we work

Four principles we hold to

Evidence before habit

We follow current clinical guidelines and tell you when the evidence for a test or treatment is weak.

Time to think

25-minute appointments as standard, and longer when a problem needs it.

Plain explanations

Results and plans explained in clear language, and in writing when that helps.

Discretion

Confidential records, private conversations, and nothing shared with an employer without your written consent.
